LIFE 4 POLLINATORS has been co-financed from the LIFE programme which is the funding instrument of the European Union for the environment and climate action. It has been created in 1992 basically to enhance the implementation of the Bird and Habitat Directive.
Currently its scope has been broadened to the implementation, updating and development of EU environmental and climate policy and legislation. It is subdivided into two sub-programme one for ENVIRONMENT and one for CLIMATE ACTION.
The one for ENVIRONMENT includes three different strands:
• Environment and resource efficiency traditional projects (ENV)
• Nature and biodiversity traditional projects (NAT)
• Environmental governance and information traditional projects (GIE)
Every year there is a launch of the call for proposal in two steps: Concept note and Full Proposal.
Only the best ones get funded.
LIFE 4 POLLINATORS is a GIE Project funded within LIFE’s 2018 call. It has been delayed because of the COVID19 crisis.
